I didn't come to this from a therapy room.
I spent six years in the military from the age of eighteen, teaching cadets and training as an officer. I've ski raced and yacht raced. I've spent years on superyachts, working for some of the wealthiest people in the world.
From the outside that looks like a highlight reel. What it actually trained me in was performing strength, being useful, and being fine. I was very good at all three. Somewhere in it I lost my intuition entirely, and I didn't notice for years, because nothing in those rooms rewards you for noticing.
Then I lost a baby at seventeen weeks. And I found out that understanding what had happened to me changed absolutely nothing about how I felt.
What changed it was subconscious work. Not talking about it more, but changing what I'd decided about myself underneath it. That's why I can stand in front of your leadership team and describe the pattern from the inside, instead of off a slide.
